Pair of Philippe Starck ‘Niggelman’ black leather and aluminium 80s postmodern armchairs

Created in the mid 80s for the Royalton Hotel in New York - referred to as the “Len Niggelman” armchairs. They are quite a simple and minimal design, with just a hint of the classic Starck playfulness and quirk. The shark fin aluminium feet at the front angle the chairs upward making them really comfortable and creating an iconic design.

Made in the 1980s, these are in original black leather with aluminium feet. Starck logo is clear on each foot.

Condiiton is really good, they are very comfy with no rips and the foam feels good still. There are some signs of wear here and there, and the leather has some small marks, creases and patina to be expected for their age. On one arm there is a very light crackling, but minor and no cracks. They were both well conditioned and cared for.
