80s needlework art of poppies and grass in a muted blue grey scene by Mary Boughey

Stunning piece of handicraft from the 1980s, this is a wonderful piece that looks amazing in real life and is hard to capture on camera.

Made by Mary Boughey in the mid 1980s, I cant find much about her but she was clearly a highly skilled and very talented artist.

The colours and simple background help to foreground the intricate stitching and craft to create the look.

It came to us in this simple silver frame without glass, so we have kept it as is so you can better appreciate the skill and work.

Some slight staining can be seen on the fabric, but its hard to pick out and may have been a choice anyway to add depth in the original.

Signed on the front in stitches and the back in pencil.
