Vintage Ercol Model 334 elm armchair with chunky cushions

Classic and timeless design of Ercol, this is a lovely compact armchair that's stylish and comfy. Probably dates to the late 60s or 70s, though the original design is earlier. Made from elm and beech, they are superbly well designed and hold up very well.

Frame is solid and in pretty good nick. Some wear to the finish in areas and on arms, but not obvious. There has been some nibbling around th struts at the bottom on the side - perhaps a puppy?! Dark patch on back legs too, historic bit of water damage.

The strapping feels ok and provides a nice comfy suspension - but is clearly of an age so could do with replacing at some point. The fabric on the cushions is old but in good order, all zip opening so easy to remove and wash or replace. Foam is still very stable and hasn't degraded or compressed - so must be from the recent past, definitely not original!

Great to use as is, but also a very nice project for someone who fancies making new covers or re webbing.
