Set of 4 Thonet No. 30 bentwood cafe bistro dining chairs beech wood

Love these classics originally designed in 1859, they still somehow look contemporary. Made from bent beech would with a lovely light tone. They are comfy and sculptural.

Thonet originated the steam bending technique to shape wood into glorious curves - creating these classic chairs among 100s of other pieces.

These were purchased from Heals around 10/15 years ago, still in production by TON and retail for about £350/400. We have 4, all of similar quality - photographed are two that we cleaned up first.

The frames are nice and solid, no movement and are strong. There is some wear to the finish in places - espceially on the arms as to be expected. There are some small marks here and there - check photos for details.
