Mid century teak armchair orange cushions Ward & Austin for Cintique Master Range

From Cintique’s ‘Master’ range, this chair was designed by Austin and Ward for the company and was part of their high end offering. Clearly influenced by the Danish designs coming out in the early 1960s, this chair was their contribution to the English embracing mid century modern.

Cintique made a lot of really nice good quality armchairs in the 60s and 70s - recognisable because of the distinctive spring and hammock styled support beneath the seat. But this range is a step up in quality and design.

The frame is solid and strong but as the photos show there are some scuffs marks and especially obvious surface damage to the front right leg. Still looks great!

The orange fabric is the original, which has held up very well and is al colour. The foam inners could do with replacing, but are still very comfy and it’s a lovey chair to sit in.
