Mid Century Danish Hans Wegner J16 black Rocking Chair project

Great chance to get an iconic Danish design piece for a discount price! Condition issues are explained below.

The J16 was originally designed in the mid 40s for FDB (now Fredericia), by Hans Wegner. It has been a classic chair for decades and is still sold new now.

The chair rocks beautifully and is solid. However it has been painted at some point with this black gloss/satin paint. So is not the original finish. There are some marks and scrapes to the finish, plus one of the poles forming the back has bent a little and turns in its place.

The rope cord seating has aged and will need replacing at some point, but is fine for now. Please check photos for info.

Please see our other listings for more beautifully designed furniture and homewares.
